🤯 Mind-Blowing! Position and Environment are “Relative”?! I Got It After Reading This!

Hey sisters! Today I’m here to chat with you about a slightly brain-burning but super interesting topic: the relativity of position and environment! 🤔 Don’t be afraid, it’s not really a physics lesson, I promise to use the most colloquial way to help you get it in a second!

Recently, I’ve been thinking about a question: Is the position we are in and the environment we feel really absolute? Later I found out that it’s not at all! Everything is relative! 🤯

1. Relativity of Position: What You Think is the “Center” is Actually the “Edge”?

  • For example: Let’s talk about position first. Do you think Beijing is the center of China? Geographically speaking, it seems to be. But if you look at it from the perspective of a friend living in Xinjiang, Beijing may be the “edge” of the east! Xinjiang is their center!
  • My experience: I went to Europe for travel before. When I was in Paris, I felt like I was standing at the forefront of fashion. But when I returned to my hometown, a small county, I found that people’s lives were still going on as usual, and Parisian fashion was as far away as another world to them. At that moment, I understood that position is really relative!
  • So: “Center” and “edge” are all man-made definitions. Your position determines the world in your eyes. Change your position and you will see a completely different scenery!

2. Relativity of Environment: Only You Know If It’s Cold or Warm, the Comfort Zone is “Relative”!

  • Another example: The same temperature of 30 degrees Celsius is a paradise for someone who has spent a winter in Northeast China! But for someone who has spent a whole year in Hainan, it may feel a little chilly! This is the relativity of the environment!
  • My experience: I always thought that working in a big city was stressful and the pace of life was fast, which was not the life I wanted. Later, I went back to my hometown for a while and found that although the pace of life was slower, there were fewer opportunities and fewer choices. I started to miss the life in big cities again!
  • So: The comfort zone is also relative! The environment you feel comfortable in may feel oppressive to others. The key is your own feelings and what you want.

3. How to Use “Relativity” to Improve Happiness?

  • Learn to Empathize: Look at things from other people’s perspectives, and you will find that there is no absolute right or wrong in many things. Understanding other people’s situations will allow you to communicate and get along better.
  • Actively Explore Different Environments: Don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone and go to different places to see and experience different lives. You will find that the world is bigger than you think and there are more possibilities!
  • Redefine Your Own “Center”: Don’t be constrained by other people’s standards. Find what you are truly passionate about and make yourself the center of your own world!

Summary:

The relativity of position and environment is actually telling us that the world is diverse and there is no absolute standard. Learn to see the world with relative eyes, you will find life more interesting and you will be able to find your own happiness!
